Privacy Policy

BetterFit LLC (“BetterFit”, “we”) runs betterfitjobs.com, where people and employers find a good fit. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions: info@betterfitjobs.com.
What we collect
- Your account: your email address and how you sign in.
- Your Fit Profile (job seekers): what you answer about what you need and what you bring, where and when you want to work, your ZIP code or town, and anything you choose to add: your name, photo, phone number, résumé, work history and education.
- Employers: your company details, the jobs you post, and your plan and billing status.
- Activity: applications, interest in a job or a person, messages, interviews you schedule, and your alert settings.
- Payments: employer card payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers.
- Technical data: basic logs our hosting providers keep to run and secure the site.
How your profile is shared
Your privacy steps up only as you choose:
- Before anyone connects, employers see how well you fit a job, never your name, photo or contact details.
- When you and an employer are both interested, they see your name and photo, and you can message each other in BetterFit.
- When you apply to a job, that employer can also see your email, phone number and résumé.
- If you give a number for an interview call, that employer sees it for that call.
Job posts, company pages and our directory of businesses are public. The directory comes from open business listings (for example Overture Maps), not from personal profiles.
How we use information
- To match people and jobs, show you your fits, and run applications, messages and interviews.
- To send the emails and, if you turn them on, the texts that keep you up to date.
- To read a résumé you upload and suggest wording you can edit. This uses an AI service provider that processes the text for us and does not use it to train its models.
- To run employer plans and billing, keep the site secure, and improve it.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for other companies' advertising.
Service providers
We use trusted providers to run BetterFit, and they may only use your information to provide their service to us: Supabase (database and sign-in), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), Zoho (email), Twilio (text messages), and Anthropic (résumé reading and writing help).
Text messages
If you turn on text alerts, we use your mobile number only to send the alerts you chose: interviews, new messages, and match summaries. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop or HELP for help.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the categories of sharing above exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Your choices
- Edit your profile any time, and leave out anything you don't want to share.
- Turn text alerts on or off at betterfitjobs.com/alerts, or reply STOP.
- To get a copy of your information or delete your account, email info@betterfitjobs.com. We delete it within 30 days, except what the law requires us to keep (such as billing records).
Security
Your information is stored with access rules that limit who can see each part, and sent over encrypted connections. No system is perfect, so please use a strong sign-in and tell us right away if something looks wrong.
Who BetterFit is for
BetterFit is for people 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above, and tell you by email for important changes.
